A Unique Competition

While there are dozens of wine competitions around the United States, there is no other competition devoted to the promotion of quality wines made primarily from cold-hardy grape cultivars.  The ICCWC seeks to honor and promote wines of exceptional quality produced from these cultivars grown in non-traditional viticultural areas.  The judges represent wine sensory experts from the country and from various segments of the wine industry.

How Winners Are Promoted

  • Press releases announcing medal winners are sent to major media outlets in the winners' local area.
  • Bottle stickers will be available to order after the competition to highlight medal winners.
  • Award-winning wines will be displayed in the Minnesota Grape Growers Association booth in the Agriculture - Horticulture Building on the Minnesota State Fairground during the 2016 Minnesota State Fair.
  • Medal-winning wines will be featured during the annual Cold Climate Conference hosted by the Minnesota Grape Growers Association.
